USB GPS Receiver GM-R800

Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the
unit, and keep it for future reference.

GM-R800 USB GPS Receiver
This Guide will guide you step by step to help you install your NavRoute GMR800
Series GPS Receiver to your Windows based systems.
Windows Vista
Please insert CD-Rom before plugging in GPS Receiver.
1. Insert CD-Rom, When the Auto Play screen opens click on Run setup.exe

2. Install Wizard will begin, Click on Next to continue

3. Read and Accept License Agreement, then click Next

4. Click on Next to Begin installation

5. Installer will copy needed files to install your GPS device.

6. If you receive a Windows Security warning, click on Install this driver software anyway's


7. Click on OK when on the Attach Your Device screen.

8. Installation is now complete, click on Finish

9. Connect your GPS Receiver to your USB Port

10. Windows will install the device driver

11. Windows will confirm driver installation and provide GPS COM Port, GPS is Ready to Use.

Windows XP
Please insert CD-Rom before plugging in GPS Receiver.
1. Setup up should begin automatically if auto-run is enabled. Click Next on the Welcome screen to begin installation.

2. Read and accept Terms license agreement and click on Next.

3. Click on Install to install drivers.

4. Windows will copy and install all required files.

5. If you receive the Windows warning screen click on Continue Anyway's

6. Click on OK on the Attach Your Device screen.

7. Click on Finish to complete the driver installation.

8. Plug in your GPS Receiver

9. Click on Next on the Hardware Wizard

10. If you receive a Windows warning click on Continue Anyway's

11. Click on Finish to complete the Hardware Wizard, GPS is now ready to use.

GPS View
GPS View is a small utility program designed to easily scan GPS port, open / close port, change/set baud rate, view latitude and longitude, GPS Status, Speed, and satellites in view.
1. To open GPS View click on your Start Menu > All Programs > NavRoute > Launch GPSView.exe
2. To find the port for your GPS click on Scan Port, for PCMCIA/Compact Flash set baud rate to 9600

3. GPS View will search your system and show COM Port for GPS

4. Change the Com Port to the port discovered by the program and click on Open Port. You will see a screen similar to the one below.

5. Click on the View tab for satellites in view, status, speed, Latitude and Longitude.

When using other programs please make sure GPS View is not in used.
